Job summary description

The Technical Advisor plays an essential role in Accès Toyota's ability to offer an exceptional customer experience. He/she is responsible for greeting customers and gathering the information required to identify and define customers' vehicle repair and maintenance needs. He/she also ensures the sale of maintenance services and the organization of the work execution schedule, while ensuring the quality of customer service.

Your role:

Customer-focused:

  • Greet customers warmly upon arrival and obtain information about their vehicle.
  • Explain to customers the nature of the work performed and all related costs.
  • Advise customers on the care of their vehicle and stress the importance of maintaining it to Toyota specifications.
  • Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that customers are informed of any promotions or services offered by the dealership.

General:

  • Responsible for telephone, email and text inquiries regarding appointments and work in progress.
  • Schedule service appointments. Obtain information about customers and their vehicles prior to their arrival at the dealership, if possible.
  • Offer customers the maintenance services required by Toyota.
  • Record customer vehicle problems accurately on repair orders.
  • Take into account previous servicing, inspect the vehicle and make recommendations for additional repairs required.
  • Prepare a detailed and accurate estimate of the cost of labor and parts.
  • Set turnaround time; check with the shop dispatcher, if necessary.
  • Obtain customer's signature on repair order and provide a copy.
  • Notify the shop dispatcher of work to be performed.
  • Check progress of work throughout the day. Communicate with customers about any changes to the estimate or turnaround time, explain costs and time involved in detail, and obtain appropriate authorization before any additional work is carried out.
  • Verify the extent of warranty coverage on the vehicle to be repaired before undertaking any work.
  • Review repair orders to ensure that work is complete and that additional repairs and authorization are recorded. Close repair orders according to standards.
  • Ensure vehicles are parked in designated areas. Ensure that they are locked and that all keys are properly labeled and stored.
  • Ensure that service forms, repair lists and price lists are up to date.
  • Be active in the quality control process to avoid returns to the workshop.
  • Inspect the vehicle body, inform the customer if any work is required and prepare a quotation accordingly.
  • Keep the work area clean.
  • Present self in a professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as required and directed by management.
